Local knowledge
Working in Wandsworth
Wandsworth's core is late-Victorian and Edwardian terrace, but it changes street by street: the Tonsleys behind Old York Road are tight mid-Victorian cottages with tiny frontages, the Southfields Grid is wider Edwardian bay-fronted stock, and Magdalen Park and Spencer Park run to substantial villas. Almost every larger house has been through a side-return extension or a loft conversion, and the upper floors of many are now flats. Against that sit the borough's post-war estates such as Henry Prince, and a thick band of riverside blocks at Riverside Quarter, Battersea Reach and the Ram Quarter where lift access and concierge booking-in rules apply.
Wandsworth is famous for short-bite parking controls rather than all-day zones. Southfields S1 runs 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with a four-hour maximum stay, while S2 is controlled for a single hour, 1.30pm to 2.30pm on weekdays, a rule brought in back in 2001 to stop commuter parking. Miss the hour and the ticket is guaranteed, so every job here gets a parking plan before we set off.
The one-hour parking window
S2 is controlled for a single hour, 1.30pm to 2.30pm on weekdays; S1 runs 9.30am to 4.30pm with a four-hour stay. Miss it and the ticket is guaranteed, so we plan the van around your street's window.

Questions
Common questions in Wandsworth
Is the end of tenancy price really fixed?
Yes: fixed by property size and agreed before we start. A studio is £156, a one-bed £207, up to £425 for four bedrooms. Carpets and ovens are priced separately because not everyone needs them.
How do you handle the parking zones?
Wandsworth uses short-bite controls rather than all-day zones. Southfields S1 runs 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with a four-hour maximum stay; S2 is controlled for one hour only, 1.30pm to 2.30pm on weekdays. We check your street's window when you book and plan the van around it.
Can you come during the tennis fortnight?
Yes, with a bit of planning. For roughly 29 June to 12 July the Southfields zones merge into one tennis event zone controlled 8.30am to 8.30pm every day, so anything west of the common in those two weeks means parking well clear and carrying in, so we'll tell you honestly whether an early slot is better.
Do you work in the riverside blocks?
Often: Riverside Quarter, Battersea Reach and the Ram Quarter. Those buildings have concierge booking-in rules and goods-lift slots, so we arrange access with the building manager before the day rather than turning up and waiting.
Why is limescale such a battle here?
Thames Water supply here is hard, so scale on shower screens and taps is standard, and riverside flats with combi boilers and rainfall showers scale fastest. We budget proper descaler dwell time rather than a quick wipe. Evenings and weekends are the same rates, seven days, 8am to 8pm.
